The Halo Board, as it has been dubbed, is a technological marvel that spans nearly an entire acre, making it one of the largest double-sided halo displays in any arena setting. Ballmer's Vision: Blending Functionality and Aesthetics

Clippers owner Steve Ballmer, a former CEO of Microsoft, was instrumental in the development of the Halo Board. Ballmer traveled the globe, studying various scoreboards and displays, before setting his sights on creating something truly exceptional for the Intuit Dome. Inspired by the impressive board at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Ballmer challenged the team to "make it bigger," resulting in the Halo Board's impressive scale and capabilities.Ballmer's vision for the Halo Board was to create a display that was not only visually striking, but also highly functional. "I didn't want that and wanted to make sure that thing was totally functional, that it really added to the game," Ballmer explained. To achieve this, the team meticulously mapped every single pixel and seat in the arena, ensuring that every fan would have an unobstructed view of the Halo Board's content.

Enhancing the Fan Experience: Interactivity and Versatility

The Halo Board's advanced features are designed to enhance the fan experience in a multitude of ways. During sporting events, the display will showcase gameplay, statistics, instant replays, and audience moments, allowing fans to fully immerse themselves in the action. Additionally, fans can interact with the Halo Board through a light-up, four-button controller situated on their armrests, further engaging them with the event. The Halo Board's versatility extends beyond sports, as it can also be utilized for concerts and other special events at the Intuit Dome. Artists have the option to use the entire board or fold up the ends on either side to optimize sight lines and enhance the visual experience for their performances. "It is available for artists to use if they want," Ballmer stated, "We have some standard software [where we] tried to make it easy for them to put their content up."
